New User-Friendly Upgrades to Benchmark EHR

Our team at Benchmark Systems continues to work hard to provide enhancements to the Benchmark Solutions Suite of Practice Management (PM), Electric Health Record (EHR) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). We work to exceed industry standards as well as our client’s expectations.
Recent enhancements have been made to Benchmark EHR, specifically the Face Sheet, Patient Band and the Table of Contents.

For this upgrade we will be making the Face Sheet more user friendly than ever before while also adding some aesthetic changes to the Table of Contents.

When users visit the patient’s encounter screen they will see many new changes.  Aside from the obvious aesthetic changes, enhancements include operational changes that take all the Face Sheet customizations that could be done previously and add another level of customizations on a per-user basis.  Add to that additional flexibility with the Table of Contents making more information available on the Patient Band, now you have a product that makes every minute with patients more efficient and effective!

Let’s take a look at all the changes…

The Table of Contents (TOC) has new color and icons making it easier to read and more aesthetically pleasing.  However, there are some users that aren’t as concerned with seeing a labeled TOC all the time but would like more space to view important details concerning a patient’s illness or injury.  Those users can now collapse the TOC using the new menu button.  The icons will remain visible for each TOC option, but the user now has more area to do what they need to do and treat the patient.

The Patient Band now has an additional column to display patient-specific information that is visible on any screen.  This means if a practice wants to see the patient’s insurance company, their last visit date, or just about anything else, they can customize their Patient Band to view what they wish.

Now for our Face Sheet. For years, we’ve had the same thing – 9 stationary cells. But if the user wishes one of those cells to be larger, the user had to choose which data to remove or at least move to a separate Face Sheet page. To allow the user to be more efficient that has all changed and most can be customized per individual user. First, each practice can have a maximum of 16 cells per Face Sheet, instead of 9. Each user can then decide the order they want these cells, if different than how they have been customized for the practice. This is done by performing a simple drag-and-drop when clicking (and holding) the header of any cell. As the user hovers over any specific cell arrows will appear in both bottom corners allowing the user to resize the cell to the desired size. If there is any unused space on the Face Sheet and the user wishes to utilize that space, they may click the four-arrow button in the top-right corner of the cell and the cell will expand automatically to fill that open space.

As the user moves throughout the encounter, do not forget about the 3rd pane which now has a new user interface. By clicking the 3rd pane button: in the top right corner, the user can gain access to any Face Sheet while working on any screen in the encounter.

In summary, clients can expect:

1) New look and feel with lighter color schemes for easier readability

2) An additional column in the patient band

3) Users can add up to 16 cells on each Face Sheet as opposed to the earlier count of 9

4) Cells can be dragged and dropped to new positions for better workflows

5) Cell size can be adjusted and resized as desired

6) Changes to cell position and size are saved per user making the Face Sheet completely customizable to each user’s preference day-to-day

7) A new ‘fit to area’ icon will help occupy available or blank space on the Face Sheet

8) Distinct icons for each of the Table of Content (TOC) items with an added collapse and expand feature

9) The icons for each TOC option remain visible even when the TOC is collapsed. Hovering the mouse on these icons will expand the TOC temporarily

10) The third pane tool will have a new UI

11) New icons for patient alerts, case management, patient notes and workflows
